NOTES:

It is my utmost pleasure to bring you this release.

This was the the 3rd show of the "In The Present" tour. It was the first show of the US leg of the tour.

It was obvious that it's early in the tour. It will take a few more shows to get it everything working like a well oiled wheel.

The venue - well - all I can say is, thank God I was able to get the "best seat in the house" for my R-09. Well above the floor and the noise of the crowd. Who would think that 1800 seats would be so noisy!!

I usually tape with my Core Sound Binaural mics, but tonight was an exception to that rule. Our seats were in an aweful location for taping, so we found a seat upgrade path for the trusty Edirol and we
went with it. The new location prevented the CSB's from being used. But, it's amazing what the internal mics can pull off if you have a great location.

My rating: I give it an A+ for the recording, and a B+ for the performance.

The aborted Mood for a Day was due to Steve starting to to play and then got frustrated and said "Cmon really" as he switched guitars and jumped into Clap. I think he might have been unhappy with the sound or the tuning. They had quite a few sound and tempo problems all night. Let's leave it at the fact that a small venue, made out of wood, tends to be challenging for audio as well.

Remember back in 1971 when they played this same venue? Yes opened for Jethro Tull. That show resulted in a riot which ended up causing the National Guard to get called in, and closed the venue
to shows for a decade. Visit http://www.forgottenyesterdays.com to read more about that.

This recording is "raw" and no equalization was performed, only amplification (3dB) and fades were made with CE Pro.

I want to thank Steve K. for accompanying me to the show this night. If it was not for him, this recording would not exist. It's amazing what two former sound guys can do!

I also want to thank Winston for offering, on Yesfans, to do artwork for people. Yet another splendidly amazing job! Dank je!

Remastering notes:

This is a remastered 2CD version of the original recording from SolitaryPine
Productions [SP012] (see original info file below), which was torrented here:
http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=222023

After having downloaded the original 3CD version, I decided to make my own
version. First, to make it fit on 2CDs. But also because I thought the raw
recording had great potential and would sound fantastic with some adjustments.

The raw recording is very boomy, with bass frequencies dominating the spectrum
and burrying the other parts (even Squire's bass lines are sometimes "covered"
by the bass drum sound). After trying a lot of different EQ settings, I found
a satisfactory one, making the music much clearer, revealing details in vocals,
guitars and keyboards. In most of the cases, Squire's lines are more detailed
too, once we get rid of the excessive level of the bass drum.

After EQing, levels adjusting, editing and re-indexing, the resulting remaster
sounds excellent, still natural with solid bass and good balance between the
instruments.

Actually, I was so happy with the result that I contacted SolitaryPine so that
he could judge by himself. And he approved my remaster! :-)
So, I have to thank him twice: first for having taped and shared his great
recording with us, and secondly for letting me share this remastered version.

Enjoy!

Comments: After hearing over 650 Yes concert recordings over the years, and attending 33 different Yes shows, I am happy to be able to present the first one that I've recorded myself (though there is
surely some debate as to whether this lineup is Yes or not). Despite the controversy surrounding this tour, Mohegan Sun Arena was packed, with people even up in the upper levels. Unfortunately, like so many Connecticut venues, Mohegan Sun Arena has terrible acoustics, and I thought the sound at the show sucked. I have never heard a great sounding show from this venue. Everything was very boomy and echoey, like they are playing in a large cave. (I wish they played at the Oakdale, which is one of the few venues in the state that has excellent acoustics). I was seated on the floor a few rows in front of the soundboard, dead center, so it should have been sweet spot...maybe it was. That being said, I think the recording sounds very good, and is a pretty accurate representation of what I heard. I toned the boominess down, and raised the mids and highs a bit, as well as the raising the overall volume level. The sound got better a few songs in, which this recording reflects as well. There were
no real loud drunks near me, as the people sitting directly next to me were all very quiet and attentive, so I definitely lucked out in that respect. There is some overall crowd murmur throughout. All in all,
I'm very pleased with how this turned out. Interestingly enough, there was an announcement over the PA before the show that photography and video recording were prohibited, so does that mean Yes is completely okay with audio recording now?

The performance was excellent, screw-ups were few, and the band seemed really tight. I thought Benoit David sounded more like Trevor Horn than Jon Anderson. He sang for both people very well, though there were a few spots where his voice would break a little. Since I picked up the CD from his band Mystery, It's obvious he does not sing Yes songs with his natural voice, which may be tough for him to keep up on an extended tour. The highlights for me were the two Drama songs, Astral Traveler and Parallels (one of my all time favorite songs that I've finally been able to see performed
live). I liked the new Chris Squire song as well, and you will never hear me complain about Close To The Edge. The crowd was very enthusiastic, and Steve Howe especially was really animated on the stage. The lack of Jon did not seem to damper anyone spirits at the show!

Excellent show - even if shorter than some of the other recent shows.
"The temporary guys" or "the new guys" (insert your opinion here & listen to Chris Squire introduce Tempus Fugit) did a very nice job, Benoit David was better than expected.

Here is one that I am sure no one else recorded.......

Aud Recording A-
Recorded By Normnomo
Mastered by Relayerman

Recorded with Core Sound Mics and An IHP120 set on the lowest recording level.
I was next to the guy that took the picture that is used on the arts back cover..(I promise him a copy of this show in the mail since he ran defence for me and blocked the security staffs view of me recording the show)...yeah we were in the rafters right in fron of the left speaker aray....third level...far left corner in front of steve Howe. I did not think my battery for the bass roll off was strong enough to do the whole show so I put it in my pocket and set the unit on 'ONE" to record. The Philly show in 2004 was recorded by me on "Four" and that was way too hot so I figued I could get away with this one set at the lowest......WRONG.....many place were still too hot and the worst was during AYAI. I tried tried to master this one but I hated my version. Pat and Carrie from the Yesbrew team worked on it and their version was only a litle beter than mine. Relayerman came to my aid and did a slam dunk on fixing this one.....I am very humbled by his work. He did a bang up job fixing all the clipped hot spots...AYAI is is hot in places but I agree with him you can only take this show so far before you start hurting the quality....I will say many songs on this recording are great....Relayerman give the entire show a A- grade and I feel pretty damm good getting that high a mark from a fan like him.

Here is a list of what he did in his own words........<

Here is what I did in order:
1) did clipped peak restoration
2) lessened volume by -7db
3) applied a custom paragraphic EQ that rolls off bass and highs
4) applied a custom compression that enhances voice
5) applied another compression for 16 bit WAVs
6) applied one final clipped peak restoration in case I introduced
any from the EQ and compressions

Both Relayerman and myself have agreed to not shorten this show....Please leave it alone and do not try to redo or shorten it.....we want the entire Yes gig to be heard in it's entirety JUST AS IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!! Trade and download freely......SELL THIS ON EBAY AND YOU CAN BURN IN HELL YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT!!!!!!I WILL BE WATCHING!

When I heard that Yes was touring without Jon Anderson for the first time in 28 years, I couldn't wait to see them. I missed the Drama tour, and have been wanting to hear some of that stuff for a very, very long time.

I started off in the general admission section underneath the balcony overhang. Not exactly ideal for recording. During the set break, I saw the 2 guys I went with sitting just in front of the soundboard. They somehow found 4 unoccupied seats, 3 rows in front of the board, dead f'ing center, in a sold out show, in a theater that only holds 1,500 without seating. Hot damn!

This recording is pretty rough. It is in need of a good mastering, and I have no time/inclination in the foreseeable future to do that. Clipping is the biggest problem. All I have done is what is required to get it posted.

It was recorded with the H-2s internal mics on the high gain setting, which provides for some distortion throughout the show. The sound in the theater was awesome. This recording does not accurately reflect it. There is plety of crowd sound during the first set. The folks in front of me realized I was recording about halfway through the set, and stopped talking.

The 2nd set sounds much better, but still has the distortion. Especially during the louder/bassier parts.

That's what I get for not checking the settings before recording. Oh well. However, Howe's solo pieces sound great.

If anyone wants to remaster it, please do so. I'd love to hear it. If someone wants a copy of the raw master to work on, as it was straight from the SD cards, PM me. We'll figue it out.

Special thanks to Gary for allowing me to pay it forward 17 years later...

During this show the tapers recorded a great performance, unfortunately, they captured an overly enthusiastic crowd as well. I did extensive work to edit out applause, clapping, yelling, whistling, static, ect., please note however, there is still a fair amount of noise remaining within the matrix.

Big thanks have to go out to the tapers of this show, THANK YOU !!!

Hey! Are these shows getting shorter as the tour goes on! NO I suspect the casino wants the people on the casino floor dropping their money into the one-armed
bandits and playing blackjack rather than listening to live music on a friday night. No one on stage looked ill...they all were having a good time. The crowd was pretty rowdy.
Steve Howe-looking perturbed- even told people to "SHUT UP!" while he talking, and he was even mouthing those same words during the quieter parts of Close To The Edge. A Fun night...even
if Jon couldn't make it! Always...Share and Enjoy!

Okay, Dimeys! Great gig "in the round" by "Yes". I sat and recorded right next to fellow Dimer Newspaper (whose recording will be appearing pretty soon). We both used Edirol R-09 recorders. Newspaper recorded using Core Sound Binaurals powered through the line-in at 24-bit 48kHz. My recording was made with Sound Professionals Croakies model SP-EMC-3 mounted with SP-BMC 2 stereo binaurals running directly into the R-09 mic input at 24-bit 44 kHz. The recordings definitely sound different, and I'm pleased with my results. There were a requisite number of drunk idiots around us, but they aren't terribly intrusive because the sound was powerful and clear from both the stage and monitors. Nonetheless, I prompted a couple of people sitting with us to tell this inebriated guy wearing a scarf and his girlfriend/wife to please shut up (hence the title). They aren't intrusive to the quality of the recording, but it would be nice if people would just STFU when listening to a band of legends like this! Benoit David was excellent (closer to Jon Anderson in timbre than Trevor Horn), and he definitely has the chops to handle Jon Anderson's vocal lines.

There were no chairs. I stood directly in front of the board. The sound is fantastic.

I would prefer that you folks do not post artwork on this site for shows that I have uploaded. I do not want anyone thinking these are in anyway some sort of actual release. If you want to make them for yourselves, go ahead, but please do not post them. This site is about music, not packaging. The text files provide all the info you need.

I also would be unhappy if I was to find this on other torrent sites that allow comercially available material to be shared.

When you download or swap for an audio bootleg, you resign yourself to going back in time and putting on the taper's ears. Barring expensive, top-shelf gear or sublime microphone placement, what you hear is pretty much what taper heard from his or her location.

This is one of those recordings where, because it's Yes (or 3/5 of the classic lineup), most fans will take a little bad with the good.

Taper was running two sources at this show--and was lucky to get either piece of equipment in the venue past security (hand-held metal detector wands). The first source was a Zoom H2, which recorded the complete show but was sadly switched to input "high gain" due to an inadvertent bump on taper's part. Which means the resulting digital wave file was "brickwalled" and so distorted as to be rendered unlistenable (or at least, bad enough to not do the music any justice). Fortunately, taper dummy-proofed himself by utilizing a Plan-B for this performance, in the form of a pair of Giant Squid Cardioid mics with battery pack and a Sony MZ-R700 minidisc recorder.

This minidisc version won't win any prizes but is a good audience recording and a fair representation of the sound of the band in the venue. That said, the recording is also an accurate document of the unwanted extraneous sound occurring in taper's location--and there's a lot of it. Taper sat in the back row of left balcony surrounded by late-comers who wanted to talk, talk, and talk some more. There was also a security guard stationed at the top of the aisle in the balcony whose radio went off a couple times during the show. There was a seating snafu in our section and some guests had to shuffle their spots until everyone was properly situated. You can hear some of the banter between the ticketholders and the usher, followed by a brief radio squawk from the security guard and some annoying chatter from my neighbors. "Onward" is the most glaring example of this cacophony.

At the beginning of the encore ("Owner") a fan shouts out "Cleveland Rocks!" While this impulsive outburst could be attributed to the fellow's hometown pride, it was more likely prompted by Benoit David's wardrobe change; the singer came out for the encore wearing a black tee with "Cleveland Rocks" in large white letters. And how about Benoit? He did a superb job, at times channeling Trevor Horn as well as Jon Anderson. His voice cracked badly on a couple high notes and he flubbed a chord or two on the acoustic guitar ("Machine Messiah"), but Anderson himself was guilty of these faux pas and loved in spite of them.

Chris Squire, with Benoit, appeared to be having the most fun at this gig. Alan White brought his game but rarely smiled during the set. Steve Howe was in brilliant form, as usual. The guitarist didn't get too animated until "Starship Trooper," when he executed a couple of his trademark Steve Howe seizure-leaps. And during "Owner" he entertained himself by moving his head side-to-side in automaton fashion along with the chords we all know he loves to play so much.

Nice recording, standard short setlist with no intermission.
Couple of guesses as to why the last 2 shows had short sets:
1. A winter storm pushed through the midwest over the past 36 hours, and they wanted to leave with the most amount of good driving conditions.
2. (For Bloomington at least) Ticket sales were embarrassing at best. Probably the worst attendance of the larger acts to come to the coliseum, and the band didn't figure they owed a full show.
Just guesses..

Good show, Benoit sounded great!

I will post some pictures from the show, we took 50 -60 from our seats, if anyone wishes to make artwork.

I broke the set after Steve's solo songs for the CDs.

Enjoy!

Remastering notes January 2009:
-Dropped bass frequencies considerably to level out sound
-reduced the volume of several thousand audience claps, yelps and howls.
-normalized each channel seperately to balance recording

I always thought this was a very good recording that could be better.
Hopefully you will agree that I was able to achieve this end result.
Great or not, I feel it is a marked improvement on a nice recording.

Artwork included, (Thanks abbeydabbey!) pictures used for art are from this show.

Enjoy,
-Don

Great show, but a tad abbreviated as there were no Steve Howe solos, Aliens, or Long Distance Runaround / the Fish. They did bring back Owner Of A Lonely Heart, though. Benoit's voice cracked a few times, Steve's guitar went out after his pedal steel solo in Siberian Khatru, but came back at a good spot (interesting to hear what the keys do doing that particular place). I tried out my new recorder and it did a great job. The theatre is like a 3/4 punch bowl with the stage being the other 1/4. My seat was in the center, but about 3 or 4 rows from the back wall (place only seats 1700). Perfect view, no obstructions, and no screamers or talkers on either side of me. I recorded the complete show (and then some). Running showtime here is about 115 minutes.

By request, here is the one and only Asia master I have. It was a nice short set list, with the original lineup, but disappointed that Open Your Eyes was not played. Also, if I'm not mistaken, I believe this was John Wetton's first appearance in Denver since the 1982 Asia show at Red Rocks.

By request, here is my first Yes post from one of my masters. It was wierd to watch "Yes" minus Jon Anderson, but it was a very special treat to see two Drama songs played (Drama Tour did not stop in Denver). I taped this show from 2nd row from center so most of the sound is from the stage monitors as opposed to the speaker stacks. The Paramount Theatre in Denver is an ancient old movie house in downtown and quite the "echo chamber" for taping. I have recorded very few nice sounding shows from this venue. This one is a little above average for the venue's expected sound quality. I will be uploading the Asia portion of this show a little bit later today.

Also, please help with the title of the first Steve Howe solo song. Thanks!

Turned out to be a pretty decent recording. Especially for the much maligned H2. Crowd noise is at a minimum, though present throughout.

There were some security ducks, mostly during All Good People, and a little bit of wind.
The wind is most noticable during Howe's solo, but it's not bad at all.

Overall the band sounded great. Big improvement over the November 19, 2008 show in Richmond despite the shorter set list.

David's vocals were spot on. Squire's harmonies sounded great. Wakeman sounded like he was having fun. Howe and White were their typical awesome selves.

After his solo, Howe suggested that certain members of the audience shouldn't scream the next time they hear Vivaldi.

Special thanks to Emily and her boobs for getting the recorder in.

Comments: Here is the Yes/Asia show from the "South Shore Music Circus" in lovely Cohasset, Massachusetts. This venue is really out of the way, and very small. I guess it holds about 2300 noisy fans, and the place was pretty full. The performance was okay, but the compressed setlist from both bands left a lot to be desired. I saw Asia back in 2006 at Foxwoods, and there is only one song from their set that wasn't played at that show. Similarly, every song from the Yes set was played when I saw them last November at Mohegan Sun.

The recording is decent. There are no major flaws. Sound is a bit flat. The biggest issue with this recording is that the crowd was loud and obnoxious. It was actually more distracting at the show then it
is on the recording. Yelling "Freebird" wasn't funny during the Asia set, it was even less funny the second time around during the Yes set. It doesn't ruin the recording, but I still wonder why fans must
be so obnoxious during these shows. Another issue is that the cymblas are kind of loud in places. This is because the show was in the round and the stage would rotate. At times, when the back of the stage was in front of me, the cymbals from the drum kit would be very loud as I was picking up the sound from the stage. It's still a decent recording, but not the best Yes concert I've ever attended.

This was Yes' second show in a week that was shortened due to bad weather. For some reason the band seemed to take a really long time to come on stage after Asia had finished.  I thought it was odd that the roadies just sat around for a good fifteen minutes after the stage was completely prepared.  Perhaps there was already some discussion backstage regarding the weather?  At that point there had been only been one passing shower, no thunderstorms.

During the first two songs, lightning could be seen in the distance.  Less than twenty minutes into the set, Squire said, "We've been told to be concerned about the lightning factor" and that they should stop playing.  When people started to boo, Howe pointed to the sky and exclaimed, "That, my friends, is death!  That is death to a guitarist!"  The band left the stage for twenty to thirty minutes.  The lightning seemed to die down.  To the cheers of the crowd, they came back on and launched into Tempus Fugit.  However, this was shortlived.  A representative from the venue soon announced that due to an approaching storm, they'd only do one more song for the evening.  Squire was very apologetic about the whole thing.  The sad part is, I don't think the storm ever materialized.  It was disappointing, but certainly not the boys' fault.

For the Yes set, I moved my position from where I taped the Asia set.  The sound is better, much of it due to the fact that there were simply fewer people around (many had left after the first announcement).  Also, the settings on my preamp were a little hotter so I didn't have to raise the gain so much when normalizing.  There is some wind noise between songs.

Very good show - the band seemed to be more into it compared to last fall's show in Asbury Park, NJ. I thought that the sound at the Tower was fairly good - at least up in the balcony, though Steve Howe noted that the sound in the PA wasn't good for him following his solo. The recording turned out pretty well to my ears - recorded from 6th row, center balcony. I only had one talkative moron near me (you'll know who he is when you hear him calling for Close to the Edge (at least he wasn't yelling for Freebird), fortunately the mics only pick him up a few times and its not too intrusive.) I cut out a few minutes of extended clapping before the encore and dropped the volume for about a half-second during Starship Trooper to minimize a nasty mic bump when someone left far too early.

So headliners Yes took the stage and during the times Steve Howe was featured, the band smoked; otherwise it was a bit of a letdown after an exceptional set by Asia. Listening to it as I put this torrent togethet however I can now appreciate the effort, especially that of the "new" lead singer Benoit David, who despite an odd stage presence held his own with some difficult vocals. Still, in listening during the tunes from Drama I wondered who Trevor Horn wasn't brought in for this tour, and that Geoff Downs also wasn't asked to double up for keyboard duties, as Howe did on guitar. All in all a decent, complete show.

Yes's lineup is:

Steve Howe
Chris Squire
Alan White
Benoit David
Oliver Wakeman

SP CMC2 mics - Edirol R09HR - CDWav - Traders Little Helper - Your ears

As with my last upload this one comes with a story. After listening to the kind advice I got last time I opted to purchase the SP CMC2 mics and clip them on my lapels and relax in stealthy recording bliss. Alas it was not to be.
As I know we have all encountered I had a couple of fellows in my aisle who seemed to be at the show for primarily liquid purposes, either intaking or offloading. The pace of the intaking was on a constant upswing which of course means the pace of offloading also picked up.
Now normally this is a minor annoyance, however there was one fellow who large, very large. Big. Really big and wide. Invariably every time he passed me he wreaked havoc including at least once catching one of my mic cables and pulling the whole setup apart.
At the tail end of Machine Messiah this drunken behemoth actually fell against me at which point apparently the stop button on the recorder got pushed. By the time I heaved this unstable blob off of me and re-arranged the mics it took me a few moments to realize the recorder had stopped. I missed the beginning of Roundabout. Hopefully when conan1982 uploads his copy of the show it will be there without interruption.

I'm speed challenged on the upload side of things but bear with me and we'll get there.

Any artists out there? Artwork would be appreciated.

Notes:
A good bit of work went into this recording. This was taped from the lawn way back with recording levels basically as high as they could go to capture as much sound as possible. However it is still obviously distant, and the bass really muddied up everything. However with some EQing it really cleared up a lot and I'm quite happy with how this turned out compared to the raw master. Still, it's not exactly a top notch recording, was taken from the lawn remember.

The show got the title it has because this was the last night of the tour, and Steve Howe was doing guitars for both bands.

Please do not sell this show or convert to lossy formats.

Nice show of the "new" line-up. The highlight for me was "Machine Messiah". The recording came out really well. The Schwarzwaldhalle has not the best accoustics for rock concerts and there is some echo audible, despite the fact I had a seat in the 3rd row in front of the right speakers (Adam's side).
There is nearly no annoying clapping or talking during the concert.

It's the source that was recorded by AlarmFan. In AlarmFan's info (see the info of the bootleg above on this website) he only writes in the contrast clause that there is another recording, made by stgroove.
So this new 2015 master is NOT from the stgroove source, but the AlarmFan source.

Contrast clause:

There are two different sources from this show available, by SF and by stgroove. Both were available on dime, but not currently.
This is a remaster using the stgroove source.

The sound of this show was rather reverb loaden, the recording is a good capture but emphasizes the low end way too much. But it's all still there, so the high frequencies just had to be uncovered.

This was my first Yes show with Steve Howe (after a 90125 show 25 years earlier) - even without Jon & Rick I liked it much better. Great stage presence as always: Chris Squire, so this remaster might be a small dedication to his big memory.

Concertonline (who will record and sold “most” of the European YES shows 2009) announced, that they cannot record/sell the German shows "...not obtain permission from the venue owners involved...."). In that fact the DIME Mods allowed (mail Dec 6th) uploading this show ("So all Yes shows of the German leg are ok to be shared on DIME"): have fun!

Location: max. capacity about 6.500, on Dec 8th about 1.200; 3 meter away from stage, just in the middle (section A, row 1, seat 4).

The Main speakers were standing on the floor on the very left and right side (very scary): in fact of this the sound is a little bit "far away" sometimes.
The sound mostly came directly from Howe's (Gibson and pedal steel guitars)/Squire's amps/speakers and from White's drum kit.
Howe's 3rd guitar ("acoustic", but electrified) came from the verly left Main speakers;
Vocals and keyboards from the very left+right Main speakers.

NOTES:

It is my utmost pleasure to bring you this release.

This was the 2nd show of the Winter 2010 leg of the tour.

The boys were sounding and looking good as usual. It was great to see more on stage energy by Steve and Benoit. They all definitely seemed tighter and also more relaxed compared to the "In the Present" tour. I look forward to hearing some new studio material from this line up. Maybe they will also change up their set list a bit as well. Some folks are disappointed in having the same set list as before.

The venue was interesting. Tight for tall people like myself, but nice. Pretty good sound. Not too loud, and not too quiet. Although, like last tour, Benoit and Oliver were sometimes buried in the mix.
Not the best seats in the house for taping, but not bad. There was no "sweet spot" for the recorder this time, so I had to keep the gear on me the whole show. Hence it's not the best recording possible, but also not bad.

I did edit out some of the in-between song audience noise (loud talkers) that occurred, so if you hear edits during the clapping, that is what happened there. None of the songs were altered in any way.

The story behind the title of this release is interesting. I went through a few title possibilities before the show, including "Captal YES", but Winston kindly pointed out the theater name was "Capitol Center", not "Capital Center", so that title was forgotten. Then during the show, after Tempus Fugit, Benoit stated that "You know tonight this place is gonna rock, there's plaster falling off the ceiling right now". Small chunks of plaster were falling and creating little round white blotches on the floor in front of Chris. Needless to say, Chris avoided traveling in that area for the remainder of the night (and his bass pedal volume was turned down a bit to boot probably to prevent more falling debris). Needless to say, the venue is still standing, but in need of some repair ;-) As a result, on the car ride home we had two potential titles:
1) Feeling the Ceiling
2) Masters of Plaster
By vote we decided on the latter, hence the name is born. You can even hear us speak this title in the recording at a couple of spots.

I want to thank Steve K., Lewis, Tim G., and Ernie G. for helping to make this night possible.

I also want to thank Winston (Andersonic) for doing the artwork for this release. As you may recall, he did the artwork for my SP012 release of YES "Alien Ballroom". Yet another splendidly amazing job! Dank je! Please visit his website at www.yesfocus.org

Comments: This came out very nice. I had seen the band Umphrey's McGee three
times in this theater, and each time I thought the venue acoustics sucked. I
was wrong, as this show sounded very good from where I was sitting, about 13
rows back left center. The sound got better a few songs in (usual for a Yes
concert). The first few songs seemed to lack energy to me, but things got
going around "Yours Is No Disgrace" and stayed energetic from there. I had quiet
people sitting on either side of me, so there's not too much crowd noise. My
only complaint is the setlist. Only two numbers (not counting Steve's solo)
that they didn't play the last two times I saw them in 2008 & 2009. That's a
long time to be playing the same set. But what they did play was good. This
was an enjoyable evening.

I drove 3 hours to see this show and was not dissapointed! They can still rock. The Cleveland audience was great. I was on the floor (GA standing) about 2 feet in front of the soundboard. The recording came out very well mainly due to the fact that it was a small club abd people around me were fairly quiet. I would suggest that you crank up this show when you listen to it ... you will feel like you are right there in the audience :-) This show is ONLY to be traded freely - never bought or sold. And lastly, ENJOY!!! (thanks Warciple!)

This concert was originally scheduled for February 17, 2010 but was moved
along with two other shows due to the snowstorm that hit the US east coast
two week ago.

Since the band's last Cleveland stop (November 2008) singer Benoit David and
keyboardist Oliver Wakeman have become full-fledged members. The set list keeps
growing shorter, with "Tempus Fugit," "Onward" and "Southside" being dropped
("Parallels" was cut sometime in late 08, I believe), making for one of the
shortest Yes shows (by their standards) I've ever seen (just shy of two hours).

I'm not going to indulge any debates over whether this is "really Yes" or not.
It is what it is--a band consisting of three of the group's classic players, each
a stellar musician in his own right, playing Yes music with some younger fellows.
It was a great performance, although this fan was mildly disappointed that
the set list now ignores the catalog from 1973-78 and 1988-2001 completely
(nothing from Tales, Relayer, Tormato, GFTO, BG, Union, Talk, OYE, Ladder,
Keys or Magnification).

What you DO get are 3 tracks from Yes album, 2 each from CTTE and Fragile,
1 each from Time and a Word, Drama and 90125, and a couple solo gems from Mr. Howe.

Photos included in separate folder.

Notes: I was not originaly going to share this recording but since it has been almost
one year since the show and I don't beleive another recording has surfaced, here it is.
That said, this is not a bad recording. All the instruments are there and are pretty
clear and the chatty moments are minimal. There is some distortion and I would say this
is not a modern sounding recording. However it was a very good show and worth sharing.

Comments: When I recorded the concert at Mohegan Sun in November 2008, the band was fresh, with an ambitious setlist that featured a number of pieces not played live since 1980 and even a "new" song. Here we are 19 months later, and most of the rare material has been dropped, and we're left with the old standards. The thing about the "old standards" is that the crowd seems to love them. It's
obvious they play them to please the casual fan. There were a few people sitting around me who hadn't seen Yes in a few years, and didn't even know Jon Anderson is no longer part of the group. Yet, they still had a great time and left with a smile on their face. At least the songs they did play, they played very well. The pace seemed a bit better than when I saw them in February in Northampton, and last summer on the Cape. Maybe playing in front of an arena crowd gives them new life!

The sound was quite good, probably the best I've heard at this arena (at least from the seventh row in the center section). The crowd around me was pretty respectful, but still energetic. There is not a lot of audience distraction on the recording. The recording came out nice, though it took me longer than usual to get the sound just right on this. I just hope that next time I see them, the setlist is a bit fresher, maybe with some new material....or Jon!

A Nice ocean breeze, a rainstorm that never happened & a night of fine music.
This will be the last time I go to see this version of Yes. Don't get me wrong, the musicianship is still superb. Oliver Wakeman is technically a fine keyboard player but he just lacks his fathers stage presence. Benoit David does a fine imitation of Jon Anderson but it remains just that, an imitation.
The show was good, no surprises, although Steve's acoustic version of "The Ancient" was really nice.
I'm just afraid that Yes, one of my top 3 favorite bands of all time, is becoming an "oldies"act, nothing original and nothing new to offer.
So time will tell if things change for the better, I hope so.
